Where My Love of Art Began
Hi, I’m Jessie, and I’ve always seen the world a little differently. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been drawn to creating. I started with painting, especially portraiture, and used photography as a reference to help capture the little details that make people who they are. Over time, I realized I didn’t just love the painting—I loved the photo itself.
From the Sidelines to the Studio
When my boys were younger, they raced four-wheelers. To calm my nerves during their events, I picked up a film camera and started taking pictures of them in action. It quickly became more than a distraction. I fell in love with the process, with capturing moments in motion and the emotion that came with it. That’s where my real journey into photography began.
I started learning everything I could. I took classes, attended workshops and second shot weddings for a local photographer. That experience changed everything for me. I was hooked. When that photographer moved away, I felt called to take the leap. That’s when I officially launched Jessie Geesey Photography.
Building a Business, One Memory at a Time
For over a decade, I’ve had the absolute joy of photographing some of life’s most meaningful moments—weddings, new babies, graduating seniors and families of all kinds. Every session feels like a gift. I’m so grateful to the incredible clients (and now friends) who have trusted me to capture their memories over the years.
My Signature Style: Film, Authentic and Light
People often ask how I’d describe my style. Three words come to mind: film, authentic, and light.
Film is where it all started for me. Even though I primarily shoot digital now, I still love the timeless feel of film and try to bring that same softness and emotion into every image I take.
Authenticity is so important. I want your photos to feel like you. I keep things light during sessions, avoiding stiff poses and letting real moments unfold naturally. My editing is clean and minimal to preserve the true colors, tones and feel of each moment.
And then there’s light. I’m always chasing it. There’s something magical about golden hour, when the sun wraps everything in a warm glow. That light brings out so much emotion and depth—it’s my favorite time to shoot.
Capturing What Matters Most
When you look at your photos, I want you to feel something. Maybe it’s a laugh, a tear or just a quiet smile. If I’ve captured a moment that brings you back to that time, that place and those people, then I’ve done what I set out to do.
Photography has given me so much more than a career. It’s given me lifelong friendships, a way to express my creativity and the honor of being part of your most cherished milestones. From first looks to newborn yawns to the pride in a parent’s eyes, I feel so lucky to witness and preserve it all.
I also believe in always growing. Whether I’m practicing with my camera daily, exploring new techniques or simply finding fresh inspiration in the everyday, I’m constantly learning and evolving as an artist.
